In addition to our monthly gathering, there are severnal smaller groups that meet throughout the month. We call these "interest groups". These groups get together at various times and places to share a common interest. In these groups, members can express their creative talents, expand their culinary skills, discuss current issues, play bridge, enjoy social time, or expand their literacy intellect in a book club. Laughter and inclusiveness are fundamental to all activities.
Interest Groups are the lifeblood of our Club. It is by participating in an interest group, that members become connected to the 'club' and, especially, to other members who share her interests. Our interest groups cover many diverse interests of our members. We currently have book clubs, bridge groups, lunch clubs, gourmet dining groups, arts and crafts, issues/advocacy and social justice, hikers, event groups, etc. As the needs and interests of our membership evolve, we add other groups.
A member can join as many groups as her schedule permits. There is no charge to join a group, although some groups have activities for which there is a charge, e.g. Friday Lunch bunch who go out for lunch monthly and the Saturday Nght Group which involves dinner and entertainment. Our annual membership fee entitles a member to attend program meetings and to join as many groups as they wish.
